Photos from the 27th Annual Southern Maine Pride Parade & Festival, including Maine's first mass wedding ceremony where nine couples wed, and first ever wedding expo tent at the festival sponsored by Gay Weddings In Maine. Wedding officiants were Diane York and Rev. Karen St. Peter. First dance song "(Love Lifts Us Up) Where We Belong" sang by Master of Ceremonies Comedian Khris Francis. Pride Grand Marshal was poet Richard Blanco, followed by Marshals Portland Police Chief Michael Sauschuck and Mayor Michael Brennan. Honorary Marshals were Maine's first married gay couple: Michael Snell and Steven Bridges. Music graciously provided by Amy Allen, The Other Bones and Lauren Bateman, with performances by Cherry Lemonade, Naya's Trance Belly Dancers and Desta Toot. The Parade begins at Monument Square in downtown Portland at 12pm/Noon.
The Festival (also where Parade ends )
is in Deering Oaks Park from 1pm - 5pm.

during Festival activites at Deering Oaks Park.
